Scroozle Does Daegu

July 21, 2007 was my first time in Korea. It wasn’t long after I made my first Korean video. It was called “Daegu: A Tiny Tour”, and it was basically me walking around Dongseongno, with my camcorder, and with Juran.

The video quality was pretty shoddy on Google video, but I uploaded it to YouTube two years later (just so I could keep the video in my blog). While I had uploaded over 130 different videos from Daegu, I never really did another “tour” video to showcase the city itself.

When I was back in Canada last winter, and making tour videos of my family’s previous homes, I realized I should have done the same for Daegu. The previous times I returned to Daegu this year, I didn’t bother lugging my camera around. On November 12th I decided to rectify that.

Makes ya wanna go?

Daegu tends to get a bad rep amongst folks, mostly because it’s over-shadowed by Seoul and Busan. I thought it my CIVIC duty to step up and show the city under a different light.

This video will be the first. As time goes on, I will release the individual videos for each location I stopped at. Quite a few of them were places I never went to, because they were still under construction in December 2010! The free museums were definitely a treat.

And for old-time’s sake, here is my first Korean video from July 2007:

It’s so…so…vintage.

So the next time you’re in Gyeonsangbuk-do, think about stopping in at Daegu! There’s lots to see and do.
